100 Lirot (pound) of the seven species that have never been released to the public. In Shlomo Tepper's book, one of the most important collectors appears a full chapter on this note.
After the Six Day War, we received information about the possibility of counterfeiting Israeli banknotes on behalf of the Egyptians in order to bring down the Israeli economy.
Israel immediately printed a series of new banknotes, called the personal series.
5 pounds Albert Einstein, 10 pounds Haim Nachman Bialik, 50 pounds Haim Weizman, 100 pounds Benjamin Zeev Herzl. As soon as the new banknotes went into circulation,   additional intelligence information arrived that the Egyptians were going to forge the high 100-pound banknote of Herzl, so the State of Israel secretly printed 100 pounds of Herzl in different colors and different designs. The Bank of Israel waited for a moment for the Egyptians to distribute the counterfeit banknotes in Israel, and immediately afterwards the state planned to issue a statement that all the banknotes were canceled and to present Herzl's new banknotes. After the war of attrition and the Yom Kippur War in 1973, it was decided to burn the banknotes in Haifa Bay, because the Egyptians did not carry out their plot.
The current bill is the remnant left !! Another bill is in the Bank of Israel !!
