Rare signature of the Chazon Ish on an envelope.
This is particular interest as the Chazon Ish generally signed his name with acronym “Is’h”, here he added his last name "Karelitz".
R. Avrohom Yeshaya Karelitz (1879-1954), was son of R. Shmaryahu Yosef Karelitz, Rav of Kosovo. Although he sought anonymity, turning down rabbinical positions and even publishing his seforim anonymously, he was recognized as one of the greatest Torah leader of his generation. He had an immeasurable influence on the Torah world in general and specifically on the Yishuv in Eretz Yisroel.
