Vyacheslav Ivanovich Ganshin (1929-2005) was a painter and graphic artist, the author of landscapes, portraits, still lifes and drawings dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
He was born in Dzerzhinsk in a working-class family. After graduating from the Gorky Art College in 1951, he was sent as a teacher to one of the villages of the Krasnodar Territory, and returned to Dzerzhinsk in 1952. In 1955-1990 he taught at the city art school.
Since 1952, he has been a regular exhibitor at city and regional exhibitions, and a frequent participant in the Bolshaya Volga zonal exhibition. Since 1979, several solo exhibitions of V. I. Ganshin have been held in the cities of Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk.
Member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation since 1993. He was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (2002).
