Nikolai Yakovlevich Belyaev (1916-2004) — painter, graphic artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1945), Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1978).

Born on May 28, 1916 in the city of Tsaritsyn in the family of an employee, he lived in Sergiev Posad (Zagorsk). In the period 1936-1939 he studied at the Moscow Regional Art College in Memory of 1905. From 1939 to 1942 he was a member of the Studio of Military Artists named after M. B. Grekov.
During his creative career, 12 solo exhibitions were held. Lyrical landscape with images of Zagorsk and its surroundings became a favorite motif of creativity. The master's legacy also preserves many highly artistic watercolor drawings.
The artist's works are in the State Russian Museum, the Sergiev Posad State Historical and Art Museum-Reserve, the fine arts museums of Sofia and Pleven, as well as in museums and private collections in Russia, the CIS countries and Europe.
