The 'Ilan HaKodush' of the Divine Rabbi Meir Papirosh, in gilded ink on parchment - 17th century
The 'Ilan HaKodush', the order of the Sefirot and the chain of the worlds, based on the Divine Kabbalah Rabbi Meir Papirosh, may God bless him and grant him peace, is written on parchment in golden ink.
The Holy Tree: In the year of the Shapad - only about fifty years after the departure of the Arizal, Rabbi Meir HaCohen Pafirash was born in Krakow, he stood out for his special skills until at the age of 13 he began to study Kabbalah and was sent to Jerusalem to learn from the Mahra's student, - Rabbi Ya'akov Tzemach and Rabbi Israel Sarok. Soon he took his place as one of the greatest of the Kabbalists. Between the years 12 and 13 he edited the writings of the Ari from the writings in the hands of Rabbi Shmuel Vital, and 27 apart from his compositions is the one according to the words of Maran the Hid. A. There were many, and the great majority of them did not reach us. Among his books and essays, he wrote 'Ilan Hagadol' - in which he sketched the order of the worlds and the chain of events according to the 12th chapter according to the Torah of Ari the 10th.
This illustration was made to make it easier for students of Han Torah to understand the sometimes complicated issues, and as Rabbi Yeshaya Mosheket wrote, a student of Maggid K. of Kuznitz who gave his consent to the Warsaw 1874 edition, "His holy words are more precious than gold and pearls included In it are all the writings of the Ari Zallah... and the one who is well versed in his words can easily engage in the wisdom of Kabbalah."
However, within a relatively few years, the illustration became an 'expert amulet' which was known to be able to guard and protect from all evil, this became known in the Israeli diaspora and across countries and sectors. In the preface to the Warsaw edition, the publishers wrote that "... the virtue of this sakh is known and famous from our ancestors and from all the holy righteous, God's blessing is its treasure and shield and deliverer from every trouble that may come..." The great Rabbi Meir Mazoz said that the accepted Shadr Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak HaCohen Atrab wrote a cameo for his father, the Grand Master, when he was three years old, and after he dreamed at night that he had to write a more important cameo for the boy - he wrote the 'Ilan HaKodush' for him the next day.
His writing of the 'Ilan' was considered relatively complicated and many times mistakes were made in the order of writing or printing which was first in the year 1951 and then in the year 1884. And after that in the 19th century, for example, we find the letter of the famous Jerusalem Kabbalist Rabbi Menachem Anakhin Heilperin to the Gaon Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Abd Mosh (who was known by his nickname 'The Righteous One of Mosh)' in which he asks to know "if the holy tree that is printed now, if it is a misleading copy or not Because in my small opinion there are some mistakes in it according to the writings of Ari Zeleh, and when his honor has the tree on a piece of parchment, surely he knows this to be true."
Another reason for the many possible mistakes was that because of the sanctity of the 'Ilan, it almost did not make it to the printing press except for a few editions, but was written in sanctity and purity in ink on parchment as a amulet.
Specifications: A rolled parchment scroll written in golden ink, 25 / 75 cm. The upper third from 'Arich' to the middle of 'Greatness and Valor' is missing.
Condition: Good, creases and some stains.
