Nevi'im with Radak – Venice, 1518 – Two Volumes – One of the First Books Printed by Daniel Bomberg
Venice, 1518. Daniel Bomberg Press. Scholars hold that Bomberg started printing this edition of the bible in 1511; thus, it is the first book printed by Bomberg in general (see Areshet, 3, 95). Printed in the Chumash of this edition was a privilege by the Pope, in Latin, forbidding the printing of the book by others for ten years as of 1515. That means that by all accounts, in ca. 1515 Bomberg had already begun the printing of this edition. It is unreasonable to assume that the entire bible could have been printed in one year only (1517-1518). Either way, this edition is one of the first books printed by Bomberg specifically and in Venice in general.

Volume A: Nevi'im Rishonim. [120] leaves.

Volume B: Nevi'im Acharonim. [180] leaves.

Size: 34.5 cm. Good overall condition. Stains. The last three leaves of Nevi'im Rishonim are professionally restored by paper completion. Minor restorations to additional leaves in both volumes. New leather bindings with decorations and a gilt inscription.
