Cat and Mouse - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank
Made by the J. & E. Stevens Company. Cromwell, Connecticut - Pat.'d April 21, 1891. In this animated toy bank, we find a Victorian mantle clock, however, the numerals of the clock face have been replaced by a cat's face. We also find a small mouse, to whom we give our pennies, at the top of the clock. Thus, we can conclude that the imagery for the Cat & Mouse Bank is drawn from the English nursery rhyme "Hickory, Dickory, Dock".
Condition: Pristine Condition with Strong Color.
