Springfield Arsenal Musket
Beautiful Springfield Arsenal Musket, dating from the end of the civil war circa 1864. measures approximately 56 in long without the bayonet with the bayonet it measures an amazing 75 in long. Black powder mechanism appears to function properly but untested by us. Varnish on stock appears to be original. Shows nicely with surface wear, the scoleration, and a bit of rust. Dated 1864, the manufacturer's mark is illegible, but most likely a Springfield. Appears to have the original ram rod. Found on the farm in near Princeton New Jersey.
