A Segula For Protection. "Magen Dovid" by Rav Dovid of Talne: Lvov 5640 [1880]
Elucidations and commentary on the parashas hashavua by Rav Dovid of Talne- son of Rav Mordechai of Chernobyl and founder of the Talne dynasty.
Rav Dovid of Talne (5568-5642) was known as having Ruach Hakodesh and as a miracle worker. Born in 5568 to his father- Rav Mordechai of Chernobyl, he was named after his mother's father- Rav Dovid Leikes of באר, a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov. He was exceptional in his Torah knowledge and sharp mind already from youth and was chosen as son-in-law by Rav Yisrael Avraham of טשארני-אוסטראה, son of Rav Zusha of Anipoli. With his father's passing on 5597 he became Rav of the Jewish community in Talne, which very quickly transformed into one of the largest centers of Chassidus in the Ukraine.
