Hitler Signed Mein Kampf 1st Edition to Julius Schaub
One-of-a-kind book: Adolf Hitler Signed Mein Kampf 1st Edition set conisisting of volume 1 and 2 dedicated to Julius Schaub, Hitler's personal assistant! Inside of Volume 2 is an ink hand written dedication from Hitler to his friend and personal aide, Julius Schaub. Schaub was with Hitler from the beginning and remained by his side in the Fuhrerbunker all the way up until a few days before Hitlers suicide. He was ordered to leave the Führerbunker in late April 1945 and destroy all of Hitler's personal belongings and papers. His final act as aide and adjutant was to destroy Hitler's personal train, the Führersonderzug. The dedication dated Christmas 1927. This signed copy remained in the Schaub family until the 1970's. The first volume of Mein Kampf was published in 1925, and it sold 9,473 copies in its first year. In 1926, the second volume on national socialism was published. The first edition of the first volume is marked by a red cover subtitled "A Reckoning". The book had relatively mediocre success until 1933 when Hitler became Chancellor, upon which sales of the book skyrocketed. The copy which is offered for sale here was printed 1925 in the first edition by the Central Publishing house of the NSDAP, Franz Eher, Nachf. in Munich, Germany. This is a super rare copy of the first print of the "Nazi bible", the 1st edition, printed 1925 by the Publishing House Franz Eher. This company shortly later became the official publishing house of the NSDAP. Hitler published his book in two volumes, volume one was published in 1925 and volume two in December 1926. As said, book is dedicated to Hitler's personal friend Julius Schaub.Julius Schaub (20 August 1898 – 27 December 1967) was the chief aide and adjutant to German dictator Adolf Hitler until the dictator's suicide on 30 April 1945.Born in 1898 in Munich, Bavaria, Schaub served as a field medic during World War I, during which he injured both of his feet. During the hard times which followed the War, Schaub joined the Nazi Party. After losing his job because of his membership, Hitler hired him as his personal aide, a position he held for 25 years. Schaub took care of Hitler's personal belongings, papers and travel journeys, making him a notable figure in Hitler's inner circle. In 1924, he was imprisoned with Hitler for his involvement in the coup d'état attempt of November 1923 in Munich. In time he closely befriended Hitler. Later in July 1944, Schaub was not present during the military briefing in a Wolfsschanze barrack in which a bomb exploded in an attempt on Hitler's life, killing four people and injuring twenty others. Schaub was in another building in the complex. He was arrested by the Americans shortly after the war. Schaub died on 27 December 1967 in Munich.
