Adolf Hitler Handwritten and Signed Letter - 1925
Extremely rare and early (1925) thank you letter to an early supporter of the Nazi movement, hand written and signed by Adolf Hitler in a German maker marked sterling silver frame from the late 1800's - very early 1900's. The donor was a businessman and brewery owner from Passau, Bavaria who supported Adolf Hitler as early as in 1922. He made the donation to Rudolf Hess, Hitler\'s deputy who is mentioned in the letter Hitler wrote as well as in the second note in the display which is probably written by Stockbauer himself, probably a receipt he wrote himself for his book keeping. This second note is probably written by Franz Stockbauer himself and we suspect that it is what is called an \'Eigenbeleg\' in German, a self written receipt of a businessman who is claiming this donation as a tax write-off. In it it says that Franz Stockbauer made a double payment to Rudolf Hess on 10 October 1925. Hitler in his letter confirms that and is thanking him for the donation. This letter was written shortly after Hitler\'s release from prison. Other donation thank you letters surface on occasion but this is the only handwritten example we have seen. Extremely rare piece of history.
