An English ivory and wood World Globe - late 19th Century
legno di mahogany wood (swietenia mahagonia or swietenia macrophylla spp) mounting and elephant ivory globe (Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797 o Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758) hinged and opening to conceal floating compass and meridian. Height 8.3 cm, globe diameter 5 cm. Item condition grading: **** good. Ce.S.Ar. Certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
