SACROBOSCO, Joannes de (1190-c.1250) - Sphaera mundi. Venice: Jacobus Pentius de Leuco per M. Sessa, 1519. An early edition of this fundamental text on astronomy with numerous illustrations. 4to (205 x 152mm). Woodcut title (with major loss replaced in pencil), numerous diagrams, historiated initials, with final blank (some occasional staining). Modern vellum, manuscript title on spine, in modern marbled paper case.
