TABERNAEMONTANUS, Jacob Theodor (1525-1590) - New vollkommen Kräuter-Buch. Basel: Jacob Werenfels, 1664. A grand work, unfortunately incomplete, in contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over wooden boards. 2 parts in one volume, folio (350 x 220mm). Engraved frontispiece, woodcut device on titles, numerous botanical woodcut illustrations (lacking Ll3-Ll4 and 7B3-7B4, first leaves reinforced and slightly short, 5N1 and 6D2 in second part with repaired tears causing loss, some soling and waterstaining, some browning and few other leaves with tears and minor loss). Contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over wooden boards (lacking metal clasps and somewhat worn). As described the work is incomplete and sold not subject to return.
