Brás Luís de Abreu (1692-1756), born in Leiria, studied Medicine in Coimbra, but worked in Oporto and Aveiro; family member of the Holy Office, at the end of his life, still married, joined the Third Order of Saint. Francis. First and only published part of a treaty aimed at demystifying medicine practiced by less qualified people. Slightly trimmed specimen, but with good margins. Some browning, uneven in the various sections, but in general, a clean copy. Entire sheepskin binding of the time, slightly worn, with 19th century label and endpapers. Barbosa Machado, I, p. 547.
