Andy Warhol Attributed: Siberian Tiger
Andy Warhol (1928-1987)(Attributed):Siberian Tiger, mixed media painting, verso signed and stamped Contemporary Masters Exhibition and reference number, Framed.

Although best known for his depictions of celebrities and luxury goods, Andy Warhol was fascinated by animals, and saw beauty in everything from honey bees to house cats. In 1983, Warhol was commissioned by his publisher, Ron Feldman, and his wife, Fredya, both generous philanthropists, to print a portfolio of ten prints related to endangered species, including the Siberian Tiger. Warhol referred to these creations, which utilized his signature day-glo colors to create compositions larger than life, as his “animals in makeup”, and unlike most of his work, was explicitly intended to raise awareness for a political cause.
