Group of original letters including extensive correspondence between the chief rabbi of Israel Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog and the rosh yeshivah of Etz Chaim, Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky.

* Letter of summons to the yeshivah on the topic of purifying Jerusalem from the plague of treif butchers, signed by the Rishon L'Tziyon Chacham Ben Tziyon Meir Chai Uziel and the Ashkenazic chief rabbi, Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog. Jerusalem, 1940. Placed in the original envelope.

* Letter of summons to the yeshivah on the topic of erecting a building for the chief rabbinate of the Land Israel. Signed by the Rishon L'Tziyon Chacham Ben Tziyon Meir Chai Uziel and the Ashkenazic chief rabbi, Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog. Jerusalem, 1946.

* Lengthy letter [2 pp.], inter alia regarding the rabbi of Teflik's famous kollel, where the main adjudicators of the generation studied (Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner, Rabbi Yisrael Ya'akov Fisher, Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv and others.) Entirely handwritten and signed by Rabbi Herzog, on his personal official stationery. Placed in the original envelope.

* Two typewritten (unsigned) recommendations regarding the aforementioned topic.

* Lengthy letter on a halachic topic (the laws of mourning). Entirely handwritten and signed by Rabbi Herzog, on his (personal) official stationery. Rabbi Herzog turns to the gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky, who is considered the halachic authority on this subject.

* Typewritten response (unsigned) from the gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky to the above letter.

* Letter of greetings on Rabbi Herzog's official (public) stationery, with his signature. Rabbi Herzog congratulates the gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky upon [the release] of his book Gesher HaChaim. Rabbi Herzog writes, inter alia, "This book is one-of-a-kind; there is none like it." Placed in the original envelope.

* Letter on Rabbi Herzog's official (public) stationery, with his signature. Rabbi Herzog appoints the gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel as a member of the Va'ad dealing with an assembly for the sake of Shabbat and kashrut. Placed in the original envelope.

* Additional typewritten document detailing the ten members of the above Va'ad.

* Invitation to Rabbi Herzog's 60th birthday party, at his home. Signed by the secretary.

* Invitation to an important and necessary extended gathering at the Baba"d hotel to discuss the status of Chareidi Jewry and current issues in the State of Israel. Lithograph. Placed in the original envelope.
