RABBI YEHUDA TZVI EICHENSTEIN (1858-1909) OF DOLINA – LETTER TO RABBI ARYEH LEIBISH HOROWITZ (1847-1909), RABBI OF STRIYJ AND STANISLAU – LEADING HALACHIC AUTHORITY AND AUTHOR OF HAREI BESAMIM.
Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Eichenstein of Dolina – letter to Rabbi Aryeh Leibish Horowitz, reccomending Rabbi Yosef Halevy Landau of Bolechow and asking for his intervention with the community leadership in Striyj on his behalf. Apparently written at the time that Rabbi Horowitz left Striyj to succeed his father as Rabbi of Stanislau.
Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Eichenstein, son of Rabbi Yissachar Berish of Dolina and son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Unger of Dombrowa. Succeeded his father as Rebbe of Dolina in 1886, and was greatly revered by his chassidim and by many others.
Manuscripts and letters of his have hardly survived, making this item very rare.
