In this letter, dated 1934, written on the stationery of the Munkacz Kollel – Rabbi Meir Baal Haness, the Rebbe of Munkacz sends Rabbi Ehrman his blessings on the marriage of his daughter.

Rabbi Chayim Elazar Shapira (1872-1937), son of the Darkei Teshuva of Munkacz, son-in-law of (I) Rabbi Shraga Yair of Bialobzhegh and (II) Rabbi Yaakov Moshe of Komarno. Disciple of many chassidic leaders of his time, but principally of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Sieniawa. Appointed Rosh Beth Din of Munkacz (1904) and succeeded his father as Rabbi and Rebbe of Munkacz and Nassi of Kollel Munkacz in Yerushalayim in 1914. He also headed a large Yeshiva. Author of numerous rabbinic and chassidic works including Minchas Elazar.
