TWO HEBREW LETTERS BY GERMAN RABBIS: RABBI NATHAN NATTA ELLINGEN, RABBI OF BINGEN AND RABBI ELCHANAN ROSENSTEIN, DAYAN OF BERLIN.


I. Rabbi Nathan Natta Ellingen, halachic responsum regarding laws of tereifos, addressed to Rabbi Yosef Tzvi, dated 1831.
2 sides. 17 x 21 cm. Good condition.

II. Rabbi Elchanan Rosenstein, Hebrew letter of greetings to his mechutan ‘Hachaver Reb Tzvi Frankel’, with several lines in Juedisch-Deutsch written by his wife.
1 side. 14 x 22 cm. Good condition.

Rabbi Nathan Nata Ellingen (d. 1839), son of Rabbi Yosef Yuzpa of Mainz and disciple of Rabbi Noach Chaim Tzvi Berlin of Mainz. Rosh Yeshiva of Hamburg (1809) and Rabbi of Bingen (1821). Author of Amtachas Binyamin and many unpublished writings.

Rabbi Elchanan Rosenstein (1796-1869), a disciple of Rabbi Akiva Eiger. Dayan and Rabbi of the Beis Hamedrash in Berlin from 1826.
