HISTORIC LETTER FROM THE FIRST REBBE OF VIZHNITZ - RABBI MENACHEM MENDEL HAGER, THE TZEMACH TZADIK, INVITATION TO THE WEDDING OF HIS SON RABBI YAAKOV DAVID.
A rare and historic letter from the first Rebbe of Vizhnitz, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager sent to the wealthy chassid Reb Moshe Wachs of Sereth, inviting him to the wedding of the rebbe’s son – Rabbi Yaakov David, to a daughter of Rabbi Meshulam Zusia of Tlumatch, a descendant of the Rebbe Reb Zusia of Anipol. Rabbi Yaakov David unfortunately passed away at a young age. Chassidim believe that this prolonged the life of his father, who had been seriously injured when a balcony he was on collapsed in Marienbad, at that time.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager (1830-1885), first Rebbe of Vizhnitz, a son of Rabbi Chaim Hager of Kossov, author of Toras Chaim, and son-in-law of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. Famous chassidic leader with large numbers of followers. Renowned for his saintliness, generosity and Torah knowledge. Author of Tzemach Tzadik.
