Description
Pair of German Torchieres
gilt-bronze, porcelain, marble
40 in. (101.6 cm.) high (each)
Early 20th century.
Each torchiere, surmounted by a circular marble top framed with gilt bronze, above openwork scroll designs, surmounting a muti-knop stem with foliate molded porcelain inserts and oak designs, all supported by three dolphins above a fretwork tripod base with foliate swags and shell motifs, porcelains are marked S.G.R.P. (KPM 1880).
