Neruda, Pablo. Letter handwritten in green ink on lined paper with the Correos y Telégrafos de Chile letterhead.
Sheet of paper 27 x 16 cm.
“Ricardo no soy amigo de teorizar sobre mi propia piel y no tengo doctrina. No soy realista ni irrealista. Por lo tanto aquí falta mucho, porque se me olvidaron muchas cosas que debí decir. Pablo Neruda.” As well as the text in the lower part of the sheet of paper there is also a drawing in the same green ink of a big fat character smoking a cigar accompanied by the stylised figure of another character with a hat, who also seems to be smoking. There is a bottle with a flower in it in the scene. The writing is not dated, but it could be from Neruda’s late period, around the ‘70s.
