Adapted fragment of the poem Oda de invierno al Río Mapocho, from the Canto General, handwritten by Pablo Neruda in green ink on two pieces of papyrus hand painted with black and green ink with plant motifs representing a tree. Handwritten signature by Pablo Neruda. At the end of the poem there is a note: “unique copy for Miguel Ángel Asturias. Paris. 1971.” Transcription: “Oh sí, nieve imprecisa, / oh sí, temblando, / en plena flor de nieve, /párpado boreal, / pequeño rayo helado / quién, quién / te llamó hacia / el ceniciento valle, / quién, quién te arrastró / desde el pico / del águila.
