A silver Shekel of Tyre – Fourree. Obv: Laureate head of Melkarth, the Phoenician Hercules facing right; lion skin around his neck. Rev: Eagle standing left on prow in centre; to left date and club of Hercules below; monogram to right, Phoenician B between legs; Greek inscription around, ' of Tyre the sacred and the city of refuge'.
24 mm. 11.35 gr. axis 12. Date not clear; a good example of an ancient forgery having the bronze core with vestiges of the silver plating.
