Pottery jar. Net painted squat pottery jar with four lug handles; round body straight rim. 7.0 cm x diam. 7.5 cm. For similar shape and decoration cf. Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, Jerusalem 1969, p. 49. Minor repair.
Early Bronze Age, ca. 3100-2150 BCE, when cuneiform and hieroglyphics came into use making the period the threshold between prehistory and history. In parallel, man began to produce vessels and weapons from bronze. The two developments with the consequent prosperity led to this period being the beginning of urbanization.
