Rare: Sefer Kavanot HaAgadot (Kaftor v’Perach)—first edition from the author’s lifetime, Basel 1581. Partially missing copy
Sefer Kavanot HaAgadot, “also called Kaftor v’Perach…” an interesting work with an exegesis on all of the legends of chazal from Shas (both Bavli and Yerushalmi) and Midrashim which are difficult to understand, taken from the Tosafot and Tosefet Merubah with chiddushim of the Zohar, by Rabbi Yaakov ben Yitzhak Luzzatto, a sage of Venice-Sfat. First edition. The title page has an illustrated wood-carved engraving. Introduction by the author, indices. [16], 127 pages (this copy is partially missing, supposed to be 152 in the original). Original leather binding with defects, stains, detached pages, overall fair to good condition.
The title page has a note of ownership: “Moshe Mirkorhausen” and “Moshe ben Matzliach Morli.”
