- [2], 366 p.: il., maps, schemes; 28, 5x20 cm. Number of copies
- 400. In font publishing cover by artist S. Efremov with gold
and silver embossing. Tear along the bottom margin of the front
cover.
Gift inscription by the author on the fly leaf: «To my Dear colleague
in our foreign campaign Boris Pavlovich Shelyakin from
the author. / I. O prits. Courbevoie, France, 1938».
The book contains three typewritten letters: 1) Appeal to the
Leib-Cossacks on the decision to release the book of I. Oprits.
Courbevoie. January 15, 1939 2) Appeal to the officers of the
regiment, volunteers and members-competitors of the Museum
with a request to purchase a book in order to use the revenues
to make a first contribution to the printing house. 3) Appeal to
fellow soldiers with the justification of the subscription price
for the book.
Provenance: Boris Shelyakin (1901-1958) - centurion (sotnik) of the life guard of the Cossack regiment, captain of the French army. A
participant in the World I and Civil wars, he fought in the life guard of the Cossack regiment. St. George’s cavalier. At the end of 1920, he
was promoted to major General. In 1921 he served in the life guard of the Cossack regiment on the island of Lemnos. In exile in France.
