(1911 - 1994) German fighter ace of World War II and general of fighters, awarded the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds. Rare limited-edition two-volume set of Galland's books: 'The First and the Last' and 'A Pilot's Life', each in navy blue boards with gilt titles, bearing a gilt emblem of a World War II Iron Cross on the front cover. Each bears a tipped in frontis photo of Galland in uniform, signed at bottom in purple ink next to the limitation number '104/1000'. Very faint offsetting of signatures onto the title pages, else very fine condition. With original slipcase.
