ALBERT FORSTER
(1902 - 1952) Nazi politician, Gauleiter of Danzig-West Prussia. A ruthless and notorious anti-Semite, he established about 70 camps in Pomerania where Poles were subjected to murder, torture and, in the case of women and girls, rape before execution. In all, he killed upwards of 60,000. Executed. Rare S.P., 3.5 x 5.5 in., a deckle-edged postcard offering a candid view of Hitler marching with Forster and other military and party officials in Danzig. Forster signs at bottom left in black ink. Shows mounting remnants to the verso, else very good. WITH: T.L.S. on "Gauleitung Danzig" letterhead, 1p. 4to., Danzig, Nov. 21, 1939, transmitting the above signed photo to a Munich resident, signed at the conclusion in black graphite by an 'Oberregierungsrat'. Two pieces.
