Outstanding S.P., 9.5 x 7.5 in. b/w, a contemporary, vintage group image of eleven crewmembers of 'Bocks Car' in front of their plane, with each member signing on their likenesses and adding their rank and position. Signatures include: Aircraft Commander CHARLES W. SWEENEY, Pilot CHARLES D. ALBURY, Co-Pilot FREDERICK J. OLIVI, Bombadier KERMIT K. BEAHAN, Navigator JAMES F. VAN PELT, Radar Countermeasures JACOB BESER, Flight Engineer JOHN D. KUHAREK, Radio Operator ABE M. SPITZER, Gunner RAYMOND C. GALLAGHER, Radio Operator EDWARD K. BUCKLEY, and Tail Gunner ALBERT T. DEHART. A typed label towards the bottom of the photo identifies the crewmembers, adding: 'BOCK'S CAR' CREW - B29 AIRCRAFT...DROPPED 2ND ATOMIC BOMB, NAGASAKI, JAPAN - 9 AUGUST 1945'. Framed to a total size of 11.5 x 10 in., with a wire on the reverse for hanging. Some signatures quite light, with Buckley's being especially faint, else fine.
