GUNTHER BLUMENTRITT
(1892 - 1967) German general, instrumental in planning the German invasion of Poland and France, participated in Operation Barbarossa, and afterward bore a large part of the responsibility for planning the defense of the Atlantic Wall and Normandy. Fine D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], a typed copy of the 'Instrument of Surrender of All German armed forces in HOLLAND, in northwest Germany including all islands, and in DENMARK'. Blumentritt signs at the conclusion, adding arrows indicating that he represented only the German forces in northwest Germany. Fine.
