(1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Partly-printed D.S., 4pp. 4to., 'Field Headquarters of the Reichsfuhrer-SS, June 17, 1943, approval of the promotion of Friedrich Schindler to the rank of Major der Schutzpolizei. Schindler's military and police service record are recorded within the document which bears file holes in the left margin.
