HEINRICH HIMMLER SIGNS THE PROMOTION OF SS-GRUPPENFUHRER PAUL RIEGE
Fine pair of items from the SS personnel file of PAUL RIEGE (1888-1980), SS-Gruppenfuhrer, police general, and commander of the BDO in Norway, Poland and Czechoslovakia. Included is: carbon copy of the official notice signed by Adolf Hitler promoting Riege to the rank of SS-Gruppenfuhrer, Nov. 9, 1940. The document bears the distinct green indelible 'H H' initials of Reichsfuhrer-SS HEINRICH HIMMLER at lower-right, as well as several SS personnel office dockets. Files holes and some marginal tears. WITH: Rieger's 'SS-Stammkarte', 2pp. 9.25 x 8 in., a partly-printed document bearing his name and home address, the dates of his various promotions; his SS number, NSDAP member number, and current rank. This card was probably supplemental and was stapled to previous such cards. Two pieces.
