HERMANN ESSER
(1900 - 1981) Very early member of the Nazi Party. A journalist, Esser was the editor of the Nazi paper, 'Volkischer Beobachter', and a Nazi member of the Reichstag, besides being a de facto deputy of Adolf Hitler. Autograph D.S. in pencil, 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p., possibly Nuremberg], Oct. 19, 1945, certifying that the example provided is his correct signature, and listing his party title and duties. He signs in pencil at right. Shows a chip to the right edge and slight bumps to the corners, else very good. This piece is illustrated on page 267 of 'Leaders & Personalities of the Third Reich', by Charles Hamilton.
