HIROSHI OSHIMA
(1886 - 1975) Japanese ambassador to Nazi Germany during World War II and once his diplomatic code was broken, he became a major source of communications intelligence for the Allies. Fine association T.L.S. on Japanese Embassy letterhead, 1p. 4to., Berlin, Mar. 27, 1939 to Dr. Willy Noebel (1887-1965), a German diplomat and one-time ambassador to Japan. Oshima is pleased to advise Noebel that he has been awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 2nd Class, and that the relevant insignia had arrived at the embassy. Some marginal toning and a spot or two, else very good.
