Signed FDC, 1p. oblong 12mo., commemorating V-E Day and bearing signatures from two of the most renowned American World War II generals: OMAR N. BRADLEY (1893-1981), American general of World War II who commanded the largest ground force ever led by one man, later Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and MARK CLARK (1896 - 1984), American general, commanded the landings at Salerno and Anzio against the forces of Kesselring. Bradley signs in bold black ink, while Clark signs in blue ink. Also signed at bottom by FRANK L. TEIXEIRA, captain of Company G, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st U.S. Infantry Division. The obverse bears a May 8, 1945 cancel, and the reverse bears a May 8, 1995 cancel and the printed text: 'HISTORICAL Cover No. 43'. Adhesive residue on the verso with some show-through, else fine.
