Lot of two war-date letters, includes an A.L.S. by Lt. Kurt Frank of 5. Batterie Artillerie-Regiment 20, 'In the field, in the West', 1p. 4to., Jan. 7, 1945 to the father of a soldier: '...Following the battle on the field, your son Johann is missing...we assume he was captured by the Americans...' Sold with a T.L.S. in response from the soldier's father, Richard Drucke, 1p. 4to., Letmathe, Jan. 26, 1945 saying that there is a discrepancy between the date the officer reported the man went missing, Dec. 13, mentioning that he he received a letter from son dated Dec. 19 saying he was on a nine-day leave. Good to very good.
