SS HOSPITAL AT HOHENLYCHEN PATIENT RECORD
Scarce patient record from the famous 'SS-Lazarett Hohenlychen', 1p. 8vo., Hohenlychen, Mar. 17, 1944 concerning SS-Strm. Helmuth Kiensscherf of the 'Das Reich' division. The soldier has been admitted with a fractured upper arm, with stiffening upper arm and nerve damage. Bone fragments causing infection were surgically removed. The document is signed by an SS physician. File holes and dockets. The Hohenlychen Sanitorium was one of the main medical facilities of the Schutzstaffel, where injured or convalescing SS-men were treated. Many preeminent SS doctors trained or were stationed there, the most infamous being SS-Sturmbannfuhrer Doktor Karl Gebhardt, who was sentenced to death for war crimes.
