GERMAN RACIAL IDENTIFICATION POSTER
German 'educational' poster used to teach racial characteristics, most likely to high school-aged students. The poster, 55.5 x 39 in., is attached at top to a black painted wood rod which bears a paper label: 'Europaische Rassen' ('European Races'). The canvas-backed poster is titled: 'Races of the Earth I Europe and its border areas' and bears portraits of eight men in front and side views. Five are of 'German' descent, the other three at bottom are labeled as 'Arab', 'Armenian', and 'Albanian.' The ink hand stamp of a school appears at upper-right. Some faults include tears at bottom and one or two at top, scattered stains and creases, and some slight discoloration in places.
