AMERICAN D-DAY PARATROOPER ARMBAND
Rare oilcloth armband, approx. 17 x 4 in., used by U.S. paratroopers during the D-Day invasion to identify themselves as Americans to the local populace and to approaching friendly forces. The armband bears a printed American flag, with two safety pins used to secure it around the wearer's arm. This armband is complete and intact, and in fine condition, save for one spot of soiling towards the printed flag. Directly from the estate of Prof. R. WAYNE SNIDER (1928 - 2020), a founder of Grace Theological Seminary and a Professor of History for over fifty years at Grace College in Indiana.
