WAFFEN-SS PANZER BERET
WAFFEN-SS PANZER BERET
An excessively rare Waffen-SS Panzer beret in absolutely mint condition. This superb piece of headgear bear a black wool body with no sign of mothing or any other damage, the stem at top still attached and fully intact. The eagle and totenkopf insignia at front are absolutely professionally applied, and are woven cloth (versus BeVo which often appears on made-up copies). The protective reinforcement within and black cloth covering are untouched, and the six ventilation holes show no sign of drying-out, chipping, or any other deterioration. The black cloth shows no tears or other damage, and indeed every stitch appears to remain intact. The 2 inch wide leather sweatband shows only light use, and it remains likewise undamaged with all stitching completely intact. The left inside of the sweatband is ink-stamped by the maker: 'Karl Kubach Mutzenfabrik Mainz-Kastel [Size] 57 1940'. This incredible piece is in essentially the same condition as it was when it's owner took it off his head in 1941 - the last time these berets were issued. Undoubtedly the finest such example extant. Consigning by a well-known and highly-respected long-time dealer/collector and full guaranteed authentic for life.
