ITALIAN CAVALRY LIEUTENANT COLONEL'S VISOR CAP
Italian cavalry officer's visor cap, constructed of grey wool. The insignia at front shows a black velvet disk at center bearing the regimental number '4' atop a gold bullion motif of a flaming bomb. The insignia has been placed above a band featuring three gold brocade stripes, indicating a rank of colonel with the Italian Corps's 4th Cavalry. A black faux-leather chin strap is attached above the visor. The interior is lined with tan-colored silk with maker's mark of 'Piedimonte' of Roma, overlaid above the printed date 1927. It further features a brown leather sweat band. Sweatband has since come unstitched from the crown towards the back end, else very good to fine condition.
