(CHINA) 'FOLLOW CHAIRMAN MAO CLOSELY. EXERCISE AND GROW UP IN STRONG WINDS AND BIG WAVES'
Large and vibrant Chinese political poster, 'Follow Chairman Mao Closely. Exercise and Grow Up in Strong Wind and Big Waves', by Tang Xiao He and Cheng Li, (Beijing: People's Sporting Publishing House), first edition of 310,000, 1972, 30 x 21 in., depicting a smiling Mao Zedong seated on a dock and surrounded by admiring young men and women, with boats filled with more waving admirers on the river or bay in the background. A long railroad bridge is visible in the far distance. The title of the piece is printed in red Chinese characters beneath the image. Very good. From a single collection obtained entirely in China pre-2000.
