CHINESE 'NEW WOMEN' PAPER CUT-OUTS
Set of eight finely executed paper cut-out images, each 9.25 x 5.75 in. , depicting women performing jobs traditionally dominated by men, including repairing power lines, conducting scientific research, serving as soldiers, and repairing navigational buoys. Each image is housed in a tissue paper folder, and the entire set is housed in a stiff paper folder, reproducing one image and giving the title. Fine. From a single collection obtained entirely in China pre-2000.
