GEORGI M. MALENKOV
(1902 - 1988) Soviet politician and Personnel Chairman of the Central Committee, largely responsible for carrying out Stalin's purge of the party, Premier of the Soviet Union, later expelled and exiled after resisting Khruschev's reforms. Good association typed D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.d., likely wardate], discussing the possible purchase of 125 thousand olive seedlings from Iran for the needs of the Soviet Minister of Agriculture. Malenkov signs twice in blue indelible pencil: once at the conclusion, then again at the top-left corner, adding the inscription: 'To ask C[omrade] Mikoyan A. I. November 13th'. File holes on left margin with some loss thereat, else very good. ANASTAS MIKOYAN (1895 - 1978) was a Soviet politician, a Bolshevik leader in Baku, member of the Central Committee and later Chairman of the Presidium. Mikoyan's main assignment throughout the war was supplying the Red Army with materials, food and other necessities.
