GUSTAF VI ADOLF
(1882 - 1973) King of Sweden from 1950 until his death in 1973, notably removed the Swedish monarchy's last nominal political powers weeks before his death. Typed D.S. on government letterhead, 1p. legal folio, Stockholm Castle, Nov. 24, 1961, promoting Vice-Consul Philip Hamilton Fox to Consul. Paper seal present at bottom. The king signs at the conclusion in blue ink, and cosigned at bottom right by an unidentified individual. Light horizontal fold, notable creasing surrounding the seal, else very good. Sold with an official French translation of the document, though its purpose is unknown to us.
