QUEEN LOUISE
(1828 - 1871) Queen of Sweden and Norway from 1859 to 1871, as wife of King Charles XV. A.L.S., 3pp. 12mo., [n.p.], May 9, [n.y.], a letter in Swedish to an unknown Duke. In part: 'My Dear Duke! I am hereby returning Ludvig's ticket [her husband, King Charles XV, whose full name was Carl Ludvig Eugen] who has asked me to tell you how grateful he is for your kindness...his duties prevent him from experiencing this pleasure...if you do not find me too indiscreet, if you would give me instead of this ticket, one for Miss Charlotta Lind who has such a great desire to come there...' She signs at the conclusion. Folds, else fine. Sold with an English translation and a tintype.
