(ENTERPRISE TEST PILOTS) FRED HAISE AND GORDON FULLERTON
Great S.P., 8 x 10 in. color, an official NASA lithograph showing the first crew of test pilots for the prototype orbiter 'Enterprise' - FRED HAISE and GORDON FULLERTON - kneeling in front of the orbiter on the first day of its rollout. Both men sign in black ink, with Haise adding 'Enterprise CDR'. Fine condition. The 'Enterprise' was the first orbiter of the Space Shuttle system, and its flight crucially proved that a spacecraft could return to Earth as an unpowered glider. After its retirement, the Enterprise transferred to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City, where it has since been on display.
