NOTABLE AVIATORS SIGNED POSTER
Great collection of ten aviation-related signatures on a 10.5 x 15 in. poster of the Bell P-59A - the first jet-engined fighter aircraft produced in the United States. Signatures include: CHUCK YEAGER, the first pilot to have exceeded the speed of sound; FRANK WHITTLE, inventor of the jet engine; DAVID LEE 'TEX' HILL, triple flying ace and squadron leader with the Flying Tigers; JACK WALKER, USAF pilot and World War II ace; RICHARD H. MAY, World War II Naval ace and recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross; LAWRENCE C. CRAIGIE, the first American military officer to fly a jet; ANN BAUMGARTNER CARL, the first American woman to fly a United States Army Air Forces jet; NAJEEB 'JEEB' HALABY, the first to complete transcontinental jet flight in U.S. history; 'TEX' JOHNSTON, test pilot; and one unidentified. Some creases towards the edges, else in very good condition.
